Several years ago our Cub Scout Pack 428 put on the first
South Boulevard Elementary Mardi Gras Parade. Like the Spanish Town Parade,
it started small but has grown over the years. Now
the Cub Scouts are joined by the Pre K and Kindergarteners do
pass a good time decorating their floats and tossing the beads.
Cubmaster Gary Graham and wife Jamie (Webelos Leader) along
with parents and Cub Scouts created their floats and on Friday
were joined by Mardi Gras loving Marjorie Green who helped with
the parade as the scouts tossed out beads as worthy as a major
Mardi Gras float. A couple of trips around the basketball court and
they were ready to close up shop until next year. Thanks to all who
contributed beads and throws to our pack. They were truly
appreciated.
